Tonight, cloud and showery rain will sweep across north-western areas, mainly Northern Ireland, south and west Scotland, north-western England and west Wales. Dry elsewhere, with lengthy clear spells.

Friday

Tomorrow will see outbreaks of rain in the north and west, these slowly moving southwards in the afternoon and evening. The rain will fall heavy at times. Dry and sunnier in the south and south-east.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday

On Saturday, a band of cloud and some drizzle will spread into the south before clearing. The north-west will see patchy rain linger around. Dry elsewhere. Overnight into Sunday, it will become wet and windy in the north but the south should stay dry with variable cloud. On Monday, the far north is set to see some spells of rain. Dry elsewhere with sunshine developing later on.
