Today will see cloud and patchy rain spreading north and east, after some long sunny spells for Scotland. Sunny spells developing later in the south and west, with showers in the far south-west.
Tonight
Tonight, cloud will build in for most bringing spells of rain, these widespread and locally heavy in some central areas. Staying drier and clearer for Northern Ireland and far south-western areas.
Tuesday
Tomorrow will see cloud and spells of rain for much of the UK, turning persistent in parts of England and Scotland. Sunny spells and mostly dry for Northern Ireland, West Wales and south-west England.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday
Wednesday will see variable cloud and further spells of rain around for most, but turning brighter for some later on. A largely dry start to Thursday with sunshine, but a low centre looks to sweep in showery rain into the night, and may bring some strong to very strong winds, especially in the south. Windy and unsettled into Friday, with rain lingering for much of the day.
