Today, the band of rain in east Northern Ireland and south Scotland will push southwards into northern England and Wales. Bright spells elsewhere, but breezy with showers in the north-west.
Tonight
Tonight, cloud and rain will spread into the south-east. Behind this, it will turn mainly dry with plenty of clear spells but scattered showers will persist in Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
Friday
Tomorrow, the south-east will see any lingering rain clear away to leave a cooler day with sunny spells across much of the UK. However, scattered showers will then drift in from the north.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly dry and settled as high pressure establishes over the UK. Sunny for most once early fog dissipates, but areas of cloud look to build in from the north and east at times. A few showers may drift into the south-east. On Monday, turning cloudier with some rain in the far south. Cloud and drizzle in the far north, clearing later. Sunny elsewhere.
