Today will be a cloudy and damp day, with thick cloud for all, and some patchy spells of rain lingering in spots. A chance of some mist and fog over the hills and coasts. Breezy and mild.
Tonight
Tonight will see a band of heavy rain push in across north-western areas. Some clear spells ahead of and behind this, as it pushes across the north and west more widely through the early hours. Mild.
Tuesday
Tomorrow will see early heavy rain continue to push eastwards over England, clearing later. Elsewhere and behind this, sunny spells, but the north will also see blustery showers push in from the west.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday
Very windy in the north on Wednesday with patchy rain, and heavier rain in the north-west later. Dry and sunny further south. Rain in the north to start on Thursday, moving to central areas later. Staying dry in the south-east, but rain will develop here overnight, clearing into Friday morning. Friday will then be largely sunny. Just a few showers along northern facing coasts.
