Day 23 – Wet in west, fine in East. Windy

The UK lies in strong southerly flow, with a train of fronts becoming slow-moving over western UK as they lie almost aligned in the flow, giving heavy and persistent rain over western parts. This flow direction will bring mild conditions up from Iberia to the UK and western Scandinavia over the coming days.

Dry with sunshine in eastern UK, however western UK will be cloudy with spells of occasionally heavy rain, particularly over Northern Ireland and western Scotland later on. Warmer for many than of late in shelter from the brisk southeasterly wind.
Tonight

A mild but windy night, with spells of heavy rain continuing across many western parts of the country, whilst the east stays dry with some clear spells.
Monday

Remaining windy, with a band of persistent and occasionally heavy rain lingering over western UK. Eastern UK will stay mostly dry, with plenty of warm sunny spells.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Wet and windy weather clearing northeastwards later on Tuesday or early Wednesday. Showery conditions then following for a time midweek before turning more settled by Thursday.
