Low pressure lies to west of Iceland, with a series of fronts in the Atlantic. Deep low pressure north of Norway with tightly packed isobars suggests strong winds.

A cold, bright and frosty start, followed by a dry day for many, with some sunshine, especially in the southeast. Cloud, rain and strengthening winds will spread southeast across northern parts of the UK, moving into Wales later.

Generally cloudy and windy, with some light rain. Rain heavier and more persistent in parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Brighter in the south and east of the UK.

Largely cloudy in the north and west of the UK, with rain, persistent and heavy at times. Drier and brighter in southeastern parts. Turning milder, although becoming very windy.
