Day 14 – Dull and cloudy

A long frontal linkage lies through Europe, across the UK and connecting with a deep area of low pressure just south of Greenland. The occluded front across the UK is weak and trapped under an area of high pressure, producing a lot of cloud but no significant rainfall. Widely-spaced isobars also signify light winds over the UK.
========================================================================

A dull day for many, with outbreaks of drizzle, particularly across the north and west of the UK. Sunny spells will spread slowly northwest across much of England and later Wales. A fresh breeze developing in the northwest. Mild.
Tonight:

Cloudy, with blustery winds and outbreaks of rain turning more persistent across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Rather cold elsewhere under clearer skies, although perhaps cloudier around western coasts.
Saturday:

Cloudy and windy across northwestern parts of the UK, with outbreaks of rain, turning heavy in places. Dry and mild elsewhere with sunny spells, although cloudier around some western coasts.
