Day 10 – GALES


High pressure sits to the south of the UK and low pressure to the north. This gives a strong westerly flow across the UK. A waving frontal system lies over the UK and down through the Atlantic. A trough is situated to the north of Scotland.

Rain across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England, heavy at times in the west with extensive hill fog. Blustery showers continuing across the rest of Scotland. Elsewhere drier, with some warm sunny spells. Windy, with gales across central areas.
Tonight

Northern parts continuing to be windy with rain or showers and hill fog. Elsewhere, breezy with some drizzle, especially in the west. Mild in the south. Fresher towards the north.
Tuesday

Cloudy with rain and drizzle across northern parts. Brighter into Scotland with scattered showers. Elsewhere, largely dry but rather cloudy. Some brighter spells across sheltered parts. Winds slowly easing.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Remaining generally unsettled with rain or showers for most. The best of the driest and warmest weather towards the south and east. Cool at times across the far north.
