Day 26 – showers mostly in north

Today
Showers, cloud and north-westerly breezes will affect most parts of the country today. Later, skies will mostly clear for Wales, N Ireland and southern England, but showers will linger in Scotland.

Tonight
Tonight, skies will mostly clear as rain and cloud clear away to the east. Winds will ease, especially to the north. In the early hours a band or rain and cloud will drift in from the south-west.

Tuesday
Tomorrow, a band of rain will pass across the British Isles from the south-west, affecting much of Britain in the afternoon. This will mostly clear to sunny spells and the odd shower. Strong breezes.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday
It will remain quite breezy on Wednesday with strong south-westerlies across the UK and frequent gusts along western and southern coasts. Heavy frequent showers will drift in from the west, remaining mostly dry in the east of Britain.

Another band of heavy rain and cloud will push in on Thursday.

Friday will be drier for most but quite cloudy, rain in N Ireland and Wales.
