Day 19 – better in the south

Today
It will be a wetter and breezier day with outbreaks of rain in the north and west of the UK while the south-east remains mostly dry with sunny spells. Feeling milder in a freshening southerly wind.

Tonight
Largely cloudy tonight with spells of heavy rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland. A band of patchier, lighter rain will spread eastwards across England and Wales in the small hours. Fresh winds.

Tuesday
Tomorrow, rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Much of the rest of the country will have sunny spells but scattered showers will push in from the south-west. Fresh south-westerly winds. Very mild.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday
Wednesday will be another breezy and unsettled day with heavy rain in the south and east of England. Showers for most other areas.
On Thursday, rain or showers will clear away as a high pressure builds in from the west and it will become calmer.
As for Friday, a band of rain in the west will continue to drift eastwards across the country, moving into the North Sea by evening.
